Disability & Inclusion at Istec

The Disability Support Service at Istec has a clear objective: to enable everyone to learn, progress, and succeed in the best possible conditions, whatever their needs.

We support students, apprentices, and staff with disabilities, as well as individuals with learning disabilities (dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysphasia, dyscalculia, ADHD, etc.), with practical, collaboratively developed solutions adapted to their daily lives (courses, assessments, organization, campus life, and work life).

Our facilities are accessible, and our services are adapted for people with disabilities.

Furthermore, individualized support can be offered to learners with disabilities.

Our approach is based on a few key principles:

Istec Business School has a dedicated team of three Disability Liaisons, available to support students (including those on work-study programs): academic adjustments, exams, organization, procedures, and connections with companies; as well as employees: workplace support, advice on accommodations, and guidance towards appropriate procedures.This team is your single point of contact: it coordinates communication with the relevant teams and helps you transform a need into a concrete action plan.

1. Ongoing improvements

• Access to course materials in a suitable format (digital, structured, readable)
• Adaptation of certain materials (layout, pace, more explicit instructions) when necessary
• Easier organization (locating rooms, scheduling, progress checks)
• Solutions for note-taking (depending on the situation)
• Adjustments to the pace when possible and appropriate

2. Adaptation of tests and examination

Depending on the needs and nature of the assessment, adjustments may be considered, for example: • Adapted course materials (digital, structured, legible) • Adaptation of certain materials (layout, pace, instructions) • Easier organization (room identification, progress checkpoints) • Note-taking assistance • Pacing adjustments

3. Focus “dys disorders”

For students with learning disabilities, accommodations are often very effective when they target specific difficulties: • Extended time • Specific learning conditions (quiet room, breaks) • Adapted methods of response (written/digital/oral) • Use of authorized tools • Rephrased instructions and structured topics
