A Look Back at the 21st Humanism & Management Day

Imparare

The 21st Humanism and Management Conference, accredited by the FNEGE, was held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Istec Business School, chaired by Jacques Igalens. This event, which has become a must-attend gathering for discussions on humanist values in management, stood out for the richness of its contributions and exchanges.

The day began with a series of inspiring speeches: Laurent Ploquin, CEO of Istec, opened the morning, followed by Jérôme Caby, president of the FNEGE, who presented the key issues of this year’s event. Jacques Igalens, chair of the event, then took the floor to offer valuable insights into the contemporary challenges of ethical management. Finally, Dominique Bencherqui, Director of Research, concluded this introduction by highlighting the importance of engaged research to support modern organizations in facing their challenges.

Among the notable contributions of the day, a presentation co-delivered by Marie-Noëlle Albert and a faculty member from Istec drew particular attention: “Internal Mobility and the Complexity Paradigm: An Analysis of Inequities and Discrimination”. This study explores, through the lens of the complexity paradigm, the challenges of internal mobility, while highlighting the discrimination and inequities that are still all too prevalent in this field.

Dynamic roundtables and interactive workshops punctuated the program, offering faculty members, practitioners, and participants a platform for stimulating exchanges on the theme “Humanism, Management, and the Environment”.

We warmly thank all the organizers, speakers, and participants for their contributions, which made this day an exceptional opportunity for reflection and sharing.

We look forward to seeing you at the next edition, so we can continue to build a more humane and sustainable management approach together!
