Research excellence for a Grande Ecole of business
Research at ISTEC is coordinated and carried out by CERI (ISTEC Centre for Studies and Research) and is situated at the interface between the worlds of training, research and business.
In order to help achieve a leading standard of teaching, ISTEC has recruited and continues to recruit teacher-researchers of the highest level. With many accolades to their name, articles published in leading scientific journals and holding international academic positions, the teacher-researchers are able to deliver academic material that is constantly updated and put together with counterparts from the most prestigious centres of excellence (Carnegie-Mellon University, University of Warwick, Université Paris-Dauphine, etc.). The materials used in these courses include, in particular, leading articles and works published by ISTEC teacher–researchers.
The high level of qualifications of the teaching body also means that students receive guidance in writing their end-of-studies research dissertation which is reputed for its exacting requirements and its relevance with regard to the concerns of company heads.
Students are also invited to research symposiums, both in French and in English, held regularly on the ISTEC campus.
A management school heavily oriented toward commerce and marketing, ISTEC is carrying out research into the way society and companies are connected by the markets, studying, in particular, new domains the new forms of commoditisation of human activities.
ISTEC researchers are developing three main research focuses collectively and as a team:

Research focus: Market and Business in Society
These projects have given rise to a number of partnerships (CNAM University, the British Advanced Institute of Management (AIM) Research, C2R project – National Agency of Research) as well as the organisation of scientific committee symposiums.
The researchers present their findings in well-renowned symposiums (for example: EURAM, IFSAM, AGRH, AFM), and they are members of peer review panels of highly-reputed journals (for example: Society and Business Review – Emerald Publishings, Management et Avenir). They publish articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, which must as a priority be journals endorsed by the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and HCERES.
