The General Rules on the Protection of Information (GRPI) from the European Union is the most recent update on regulating the protecting of individuals’ personal information. These rules concern the way information is gathered, used, recorded, stocked and/or deleted. At any time, users can ask for this information and change their various options, whether that be an update or a delete. These rules exist as of May 25, 2018.

ISTEC is committed to protecting the privacy of all its site users on www.istec.fr. The present Confidentiality Policy informs you on the way we gather, use and protect your personal data. This applies to all users, recorded members or not, of our site: web istec.fr. We advise you to read this carefully.

General

The address of our web site is: https://istec.fr. When connecting on this site, you agree to have read, understood and accepted users’ conditions and the confidentiality policy. Please note that this confidentiality policy may be modified or completed somewhat, at any time, by us, in the event of the need to conform to any change in the technological, legal, jurisprudence or rules environment. Should such be the case, the update time will be clearly indicated. These changes involve the user as soon as they are on line.

The information collected on this site is recorded in the ISTEC I.T. files and our providers who manage our candidates, students and holders of a diploma. In the hands of the administrative service of ISTEC, they are kept for at least 5 years after the last usage.

Personal collected information

When using our web site, you will be lead to giving some information that can identify you: “Personal Information”. This is the case when you fill in a form (for example, an exam enrolment form), a request for a contact or a subscription to our newsletter.

This information is mainly :

  • Last name, first name, civil state or other, date of birth
  • Address, e-mail, telephone number
  • Level of studies, obtained or on-going degrees
  • ID and pass word used to identify you on our site
  • Cryptic information relative to means of payment (Bank card number)
  • Any other information that you wish to share with us
  • Also, your IP address and navigator user are collected.

We only use your personal information within the legal established frame. We never use your personal information for commercial benefit without your agreement. If you are under 16, always ask one or your parents or guardians to send on the personal information on line.

Non-Personal information collected (cookies)

When using our web site, you will be also led to automatically transmitting gathered information with the help of technology used by our site so as to personalize your visit. This information also helps us to improve our web functions in order to provide you with better service. The main technological tool used is the cookie. The latter does not identify you personally. It allows recognition of your terminal and can gather some information relative to the navigation thereby used.

If you have an account and if you connect on this site, a temporary cookie will be set up to determine whether your navigator accepts it or not. It contains no personal information and is automatically deleted when you close your navigator.

When you connect, we set up some cookies to record your connection information and your favorite screens. A cookie connection’s life is two days; a screen-chosen cookie lasts for one year. If you choose “Remember Me”, your connection cookie will last for a fortnight. If you disconnect from your cookie, it will be automatically erased.

When changing or publishing a document on our site, an extra cookie will be recorded in your navigator. Here, there is no personal data. The cookie only identifies the identification of the article that you have changed. It expires within a day.

The ISTEC cookies, in agreement with your choice, give us access to the following information:

  • Identification of the equipment you are using (IP address of your computer, Android ID, Apple, etc.)
  • Type of system used by your terminal (Microsoft Windows, Apple OS, Linux, UNIX, BeOS, etc.)
  • Type and version of navigation software used by your terminal (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.)
  • Date and time of connection to our site
  • Address of sender’s page
  • Navigation information on our pages, viewed contents.

Information relative to a third party

Before requesting a contact, information, an on-line registration or a subscription request for our newsletter by a third party, or any other step that you are not directly involved in, you must make sure that the person in question accepts to give us his/her personal information.

Sensitive information

We do not collect any of your sensitive information. The latter is considered to be: ethnic or racial origins, political opinions, religious and philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, information on health or sexual orientation. Should any of the above information be communicated somehow to ISTEC, it will be destroyed.

Using your information

In agreement with current legislation and with your own agreement when requested, we might use data available on your site for prospection, e.g. sending newsletters, e-mailing our events’ invitations or any other communication which could be of interest to you, such as a TEXT reminder, for instance, for participating in a contest or suchlike.

Regarding e-mails: you can refuse consent upon reception of the e-mail, by dis-enrolling on the link provided in all our communications or by contacting: dpo@istec.fr.

Sharing information:

The information you send us is used by various ISTEC administration services (communication, admission, school reception, pedagogy, company relations, accountancy).
There is a clause of confidentiality for those using your personal information.

Links to other internet sites and social networks

Our publications can contain links to other partner or company sites. Please note that these web sites have their own policies of confidentiality and we thus decline all responsibility for information gathered when you click on those links. We advise you to read up on the policies of confidentiality of these sites before sending on your personal information.

Stocking date of your data

We keep your personal data for at least 5 years.
We do not keep the data of your credit/bank cards on our server.

Consulting, updating or deleting personal information

You can ask for the file containing all your personal information that we have on you. You can also ask us to delete it. This does not take into account the stocked data for administration, legal or security purposes. For this request, contact: dpo@istec.fr

Protecting your information

Your information is protected during the transmitting and the stocking. We are responsible for protecting it, using all the technology and organization means according to the legal available dispositions against fraud, illicit use, accidental loss, destruction and non-authorized access.

If you have chosen a pass word to access some areas of the Site, you are responsible for the confidentiality of your pass word. We advise you to keep it secret.

Unfortunately, transmitting data on the Internet is not without risk. We endeavor to protect your information; we cannot guarantee however your data security. All the information you send to us is at your own risk.
