A REAL PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, UNIQUE AND UNFORGETTABLE!

A large association family with 250 students in over 20 associations. A hierarchical organisation allowing great development for students, equating to a career during their schooling.

Association life at ISTEC is about personal development and opening up to others

In an atmosphere of fraternity and a spirit of passing on knowledge, the older and younger students work every year to improve the life of the school.

FIRST YEAR > DISCOVERY

The members of the Associations Office (BDA), responsible for association life at ISTEC, provide first-year students with around forty hours of lessons and guidance in implementing an “association project”. In this way, they jointly create an association of use to everyone in the school (project management, creation of a budget, studying association laws).

It is a great step forward in the professional world and an advance, a new level of maturity in students’ personal lives.

SECOND YEAR > BECOMING MORE INVOLVED

The first part of the second year is spent abroad. Students closely involved in association life prepare the Student Union (BDE) campaign to become the elected representatives who will lead student life over the following year. Older students are there as advisers, but the organisation and search for sponsors and funds is entirely carried out by second-year students.
For the others, the return to Paris allows them to become involved in the existing associations or to launch their association created the previous year, a feat of which they can be justly proud.

THIRD YEAR > MATERIALISATION

The third year is spent entirely in Paris and is an opportunity for hierarchical progression for involved students. This year sees the materialisation of the projects of association students who can in this way take up posts of great responsibility and manage teams of 10 to 80 students, managing the budgets that are allocated to them.
It is a year of taking on responsibilities and developing professionalism and commitment.

FOURTH YEAR > KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER

With the greatest posts of responsibility being accessed in third year, fourth-year students often decide to extend their post to December of their fourth year. Only the Associations Office (BDA) continues until fifth year. This period allows students to enjoy the basis of a fully completed project with the possibility of transferring all the knowledge acquired through previous experience to new entrants.

FIFTH YEAR > SHARING

Fifth year students no longer have the time required to invest in the school’s association life (block release training, dissertation, etc.) but they are real mentors for students from other years, still available to come to the assistance of association members and share their experience.

There is real, sincere mutual assistance between ISTEC students of different years.
