Discover the different testimony of ISTEC’s students
Charles DAVOINE – 1st year Bachelor
By joining the Bachelor’s degree programme, I have been able to acquire an in-depth knowledge of commercial methodologies, techniques and practices through theoretical classes and regular situational simulations. Different working groups have given us valuable lessons about working in a team and in a company. Associations, which are a big part of life at ISTEC, allow us to participate in many events outside of class, which is very rewarding from a human relations and professional point of view.
The network of partner companies and ISTEC graduates has also been very useful to me: after having taking part in the “speed-dating” style job interviews and rubbing shoulders with partner companies at different school events, I found my future employer for my block release period in second year: I am starting a post as a sales assistant in an aeronautics company.
Margaux MESLET – 2nd year Bachelor
My classes at ISTEC : as complete as diverse, they allowed me to learn the methods and fundamental tools in the professional world . I could put these tools into practice during my rotation in the Network Post .
Indeed , through my promotional missions and the establishment of procedures in order to improve the safety of officers in post offices , I could apply my course of marketing, communication, sales … These tools also allowed me to represent the school at an international seminar communication team , we won
Sofia RADI – 3rd year Bachelor
I joined ISTEC’s Bachelor’s degree programme in third year in the Business specialisation. Recruited under a block release arrangement as a marketing assistant in the Lafarge group, the highly practical teaching which was given, in particular commercial management and e-business, has really helped me to develop in terms of my goals.
This teaching and the personal monitoring that the lecturers gave us encouraged me to do my Master’s studies there, and I joined ISTEC’s Grande Ecole programme. I am starting my fourth year under a block release arrangement at Banque Postale Financement as an Operational Marketing executive. The block release arrangement has allowed me to develop in terms of autonomy and maturity.
Océane BROSSEAU – Grande Ecole first year
When I started in first year, I discovered new ways of teaching and a new way of working; the lessons that are given to us are all interlinked and the theory is put into practice very quickly in the business world. I was very pleasantly surprised by the association life of the school, which is very active and allows us to integrate more easily.
At the end of the year, I did a two-month placement with a major cosmetics retailer as a sales assistant and I learnt a huge amount in professional terms as well as on a human level. I also had the chance to work in the French Open. I think it is the most rewarding experience that I have had this year.
Clara BOUSSEMART – Grande Ecole 2nd year
During my second year, I had the chance to do a semester in Berlin. I discovered a surprising open-mindedness among the Berliners, as well as a city with exceptional cultural and historical features. I then had the opportunity to campaign in the Student Union elections. This was good professional experience in the form of the organisation of events as well as seeking sponsorship.
For my work placement, I took the opportunity to go to Vietnam to teach French in a primary school and a high school. I discovered a new culture and I had an unforgettable time with the children. It was a particularly rewarding life experience!
Loïc DELMER – Grande Ecole 3rd year
Association life has played a major role in my training since my first year. I joined the basketball association, which allowed me to develop my team spirit and my desire to win. Then, in second year, I had the opportunity to be treasurer of a team running for the Student Union elections. I therefore learnt to manage a budget, as well as a team.
It was a very powerful and rewarding experience in terms of human relations. In third year, I joined the sports association and in this way I learnt to take on responsibilities. I am currently in the Societies Association, where I am in charge of ensuring that the entire Association life of ISTEC runs smoothly.
Alice FOURNET – Grande Ecole 4th year
After following a three-year curriculum at ISTEC, block release training and the English programme seemed to be an obvious choice to me. This year gave me the opportunity to discover the world of French start-ups. For one year I was the marketing and communication manager of a start-up that creates objects that charge up through movement.
With mainly international goals, the practice of marketing and communication in English at the school has been of real benefit to my block release training. This block release training has been a real springboard into my professional life and it allows me to enter my last year in possession of a specific professional project.
Matthias BERANGER – Grande Ecole 5th year
I am a web marketing enthusiast. For this fifth year, the choice of specialisation was easy: the specialisation in operational and digital marketing comes close to real life. The work must be based around developed proposals which are addressed in the same way as they would be in the business world.
This specialisation pushes us to respond to the demands of the present but also to understand the future. I completed this year on a block release arrangement, which allowed me to consolidate my technical knowledge but also to progress on a human relations level. I feel that I am a better professional now in all respects. I also held the role of head of web communication in the retail sector in the company in which I did my block release training.
